Békéscsaba is the place to be and each day I find miracles. The work is going well! Many progressing investigators, language is coming along slow and steady and I am loving the culture. I feel right at home and there is no place I would rather be.

Our days are quite busy here in Hungary and the only time I really get to be away from it all is during personal study, which is my favorite time of the day. A time where you forget and push away concerns or fears, and focus becoming and learning more about the Savior. The first week being here, one whole hour seemed like a lifetime. As weeks went on, I find myself so excited to read and to find out what happens. I have truly learned to love the Book of Mormon and each day I try to apply everything that I read to my own life. I have already developed wonderful habits that I can take home with me and continue for the rest of my life.

week_11_hungary13Our investigators are champions. We have an investigator named Robert who is a complete hoot. He speaks English great, he loves fitness and he is obsessed with old Volkswagen bugs. He loves saying the word “absolutely” and that gets repeated quite often. Our last lesson with Robert, he gave us each a ping pong paddle key chain. We have another investigator by the name of Irén. She is the sweetest lady and we invited her to church and she came! That was the sweetest miracle. Laszló, another investigator who we met from Engli class, told us that since he has been coming to our church building his life has changed and he wants to learn more. WOW! That was another miracle. You can find miracles everywhere you go and sometimes you don’t even know it.

On Sunday. my companions and I hopped on the train and headed to Buda for my new missionary training. We got in late to Buda but luckily we were able to sleep over night in the mission home. The next morning I had training, I learned how to be a better missionary and follow mission rules with exact obedience. That same day we headed back to Békéscsaba and got right back to work.

week_11_hungary2A funny fact: Back in Utah, the worst fast food is Burger King, but here in Hungary – the best fast food is Burger King.. WHA? I had my first whopper and I was in heaven. Also, the ice cream here is incredible. Also, since it is incredibly hot here, everyone tries to wear as little clothing as possible. Speedos are quite the popular clothing.

I am loving Hungary and I feel right at home here in Békéscsaba. Missionary work is hard, and sometimes you feel your worst, but there are things that make it all worth it. You just have to remember to not let the little things get in the way. I have learned that even if there is a language barrier, the spirit is the teacher. Never forget that.
Thank you all for your prayers and support back at home. I hope you all have a wonderful week! God bless.
All my love, Whittaker Nővér
